Rural Welsh Sheep Farming

While the Royal Welsh is the giant, the smaller shows offer a friendlier, more intimate look at rural life. These are the community pillars where business is done over a pint and local rivalries are settled in the ring.

Brecon County Show

Location: Brecon (25 mins East).
2025 Date: Saturday 2nd August.
The Vibe: If the Royal Welsh is the Olympics, this is the Commonwealth Games. Historic (established 1755) and features great main ring entertainment.

Llandeilo Show

Location: Ffairfach (20 mins South-West).
2025 Date: Saturday 16th August.
The Vibe: The quintessential market town show. Set on the meadows of the River Tywi, it has a strong equine focus and feels deeply integrated with the town.

Cothi Bridge Show

Location: Nantgaredig (30 mins West).
2025 Date: Saturday 31st May.
The Vibe: The season opener. Relaxed and optimistic, with a popular vintage machinery section.

The Village Secrets

  • Trap Show (Late July): Set spectacularly under Carreg Cennen Castle.
  • Rhandirmwyn Show (Late August): Just up the valley from us, featuring sheepdog trials and family sports.
  • Sennybridge Show (Early Sept): A "farmer's show" famous for high-quality stock.
