Cantref Adventure Farm

Located 25 minutes east near Brecon.
The Highlight: Pig Racing. Held daily from May to October, these theatrical races feature pigs with names like "Harry Trotter" racing around a track. It is hilarious and designed for maximum audience participation. Also features Europe's longest sledge ride.

Dolaucothi Gold Mines

Located 15 minutes north-west in Pumsaint.
Don a hard hat and lamp to explore the only known Roman gold mine in the UK. Afterwards, try your hand at Gold Panning in the troughs—you keep whatever specks you find!

The National Botanic Garden of Wales

Located 35 minutes south-west.
It’s not just about plants. Visit the British Bird of Prey Centre for flying displays of eagles and kites, or let the children run wild in the "Go Wild" summer programmes featuring straw bale mazes and pond dipping.
