Wild Ponies on Black Mountain

You don't always need to drive far to connect with the countryside. Here are some gems right on our doorstep.

Myddfai Community Hall (10 Mins)

Visit on the last Wednesday of the month for the Farmers Market. It is a chance to meet the producers who farm the surrounding slopes and occasionally join "Food Safaris" to local sustainable farms.

The Black Mountain Commons (15 Mins)

Drive south up the A4069 Mountain Road to see the "wild" side of Welsh farming. The slopes are grazed by thousands of Welsh Mountain Sheep and herds of semi-wild Mountain Ponies.

Interaction Rule: This is strictly a "See, Don't Feed" experience. Feeding ponies near the road is dangerous. Park in a lay-by and enjoy watching them in their natural, windswept home.
