The Royal Welsh Show

Dates: July 20 – 23, 2026

The Scale: This is the Olympics of Welsh Farming. Over 200,000 visitors descend on the showground to see 7,000 of the finest animals in the country.

Travel Tip: Traffic is heavy. From Llandovery, you can take the Heart of Wales train to Builth Road station (just over a mile from the ground) and catch a shuttle bus, bypassing the queues.

The Royal Welsh Winter Fair

Dates: November 30 – December 1, 2026

Ideally timed for the festive season, this event transforms the showground into a massive Christmas market. The air smells of mulled wine and chestnuts. It is the perfect place to buy PGI Welsh Lamb, artisan cheese, and unique woollen gifts.
