Just 15 minutes north of Brecon Oak lies the Tywi Forest and the Cwm Rhaeadr trail centre. This wild landscape hosts Lauf Gritfest, an event that defines the modern "gravel" riding scene.

The Format

Gritfest is unique. It uses a "rally" format over two days. You race at maximum intensity on designated Timed Special Stages, then relax and chat with friends on the untimed liaison sections. It combines the thrill of racing with a sociable festival atmosphere.

The Terrain

  • Day 1 (75km): Fast, all-weather tracks in the Tywi Forest.
  • Day 2 (59km): Exploring the steep slopes around the spectacular Llyn Brianne reservoir and spillway.

Entries sell out rapidly. If you are racing, Brecon Oak offers the perfect sanctuary to clean your bike and recover in comfort away from the campsite noise.
