Aberglasney: A Garden Lost in Time

Just 20 minutes west of Llandovery lies Aberglasney, a site that was famously "lost" and overgrown until its rediscovery and restoration in the 1990s. Today, it is one of Wales' finest gardens.

The Elizabethan Cloister

The jewel in the crown is the Elizabethan Cloister Garden. It is the only surviving example of its kind in the UK, allowing you to walk the raised terrace just as the wealthy residents did centuries ago.

The Ninfarium

Don't worry if it rains—Aberglasney features the "Ninfarium," an award-winning indoor garden built within the ruins of the mansion's central courtyard. Filled with sub-tropical plants and orchids, it is a warm, green sanctuary whatever the weather.
