Dinefwr: A Seat of Power

Just 20 minutes west of Llandovery near Llandeilo, the Dinefwr estate offers three attractions in one: a medieval castle, a historic mansion, and a glorious nature reserve.

A short walk through the woods leads you to the ancient castle. This was the seat of the Lord Rhys and the power base of the Kingdom of Deheubarth. The view from the battlements, looking down over the meandering River Tywi, is one of the most iconic scenes in Wales.
