The Red Kite Feeding Station
The Red Kite is the national bird of Wales, iconic for its forked tail and russet colour. While you will likely see them soaring above Brecon Oak, seeing them at the Feeding Station in Llanddeusant (30 minutes south) is a different experience entirely.
The Spectacle
Wild kites are fed here daily (2pm GMT / 3pm BST). You can watch from hides as hundreds of these massive raptors descend from the hills, diving for meat. The sound and the sheer number of birds make this one of the most dramatic wildlife experiences in Europe.
It is accessible for all ages and provides incredible opportunities for photographers.
